Is my data secure?

Yes. Simple Stocks is built so your financial data stays yours.

Portfolios, transactions and cash accounts you create or import live on your device and in your own iCloud account. 

All calculations happen on your device. Nothing you enter yourself is ever sent to our servers, and we never see it.

Connected brokerage accounts

If you choose to connect a brokerage account, Simple Stocks uses SnapTrade, a secure brokerage-connection service.

• We never see your brokerage login. You sign in to your broker inside SnapTrade’s secure connection screen. Your username and password are never shared with Simple Stocks.

• Read-only access. The connection can only read your holdings, balances and transactions. Simple Stocks cannot place trades or move money.

• Your access key stays with you. The key that lets the app fetch your brokerage data is stored in your Apple Keychain and synced only through your iCloud Keychain.

• We don’t store your brokerage data. Holdings and transactions pass securely to your device, we never see them. Once on your device, they’re kept on that device only.

• What we do keep. We store a single link between your App Store subscription and an anonymous SnapTrade ID. It holds no personal or financial details. We use it to close your SnapTrade connection automatically if your subscription ends.

• You’re in control. You can disconnect a brokerage at any time from within the app. If your Simple Stocks+ subscription ends, your SnapTrade connection and the data SnapTrade holds for it are deleted automatically within about a day.

SnapTrade handles your brokerage data under its own Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

What we never do

• We don’t partner with advertising agencies.

• We don’t collect or sell metadata such as your location or IP address.

• We don’t sell or share your data with anyone.
